Function, form and paintings – a/w Burberry in short.
We waited for quite some time and we ended up speechless with the latest Burberry collection.
There’s no doubt about it. Since 1856, unarguably the best British brand Burberry always managed to leave us speechless. This year their fashion statement is even more louder: Matisse-like big flowers spread on every single piece of clothing and accessories.
Creative director (soon chief executive) Christopher Bailey focused on art inspired pieces/flowers as if they were splashed directly with brushstrokes on the fabric, cape-like trench coats, silk panel open leg dresses, and open-toe ankle heels that perfectly match with oversized handbags.
Pastel colored trench coats, leather-sheep like short jacket and thin, almost transparent rain coats left us lusting for autumn already. When you add silk scarves that elegantly fall along with the dress you have an authentic picture.
And of course, the finale at Burberry wouldn’t be complete if there’s no Cara Delevingne to close the runway. With Paloma Faith voice in the background, green, orange and brownish floral lines gave an additional femininity to her already wonderful figure.
At the end, when we thought that Burberry is done, we are left stunned with personal thick wool blankets for big winters that might repeat next year.
